The Red Devil Unit Rifle Team is one of the units successful teams. After being ranked one of the top NJROTC rifle teams in Area 12 and the 3A State Classification in 2005, the rifle team moved from Area 12 competition to Area 6 after the departure of the former coach and  SNSI, LCDR Charlie Andrews. Their first year in the new area under the direction of the new SNSI,  LTCOL Clarence Mariney, the rifle team placed 3rd and qualified for state. In 2007, Druid Hills had two cadets placed in the top 5 and three cadets place in the top 20 (second only to South Effingham High School who had 4) in the Navy JROTC Postal Competition 2006-2007 Area 12 Individual Sporter Rifle Classification.
